MAMA's first Meet and Greet event was held at North Dallas Doula Associates establishment, promoting a safe place and open discussion. We discussed the birth of Moms Advocating for Moms Alliance and House Bill 4553. Thank you to everyone who were able to show up, watch online, and support this event.

House Bill 4553
"Malik's Law"
Introduced into the House March 12, 2025, this bill is relating to the mandatory reporting of birth outcomes by licensed midwives in the State of Texas.​
​
Currently licensed midwives are not required to report any outcomes relating to transfer, mortality, or morbidity to a standard reporting system. ​​

May 8, 2025 - HB 4553 voted yes out of the Committee of Public Health with 7 ayes and 4 nays.

May 14, 2025 - Statement issued, due to time constraints, HB 4553 did not pass the 2025 legislation.
