How Public Health Committee Hearings Work:
Notice of Hearing:
Once a bill is assigned to the Public Health Committee, a public hearing is scheduled. Advance notice is given on the Texas Legislature’s website.
Committee Convening:
The committee, made up of appointed state representatives, meets to hear testimony on the bills under consideration. The bill’s author usually presents the bill first.
